It's no secret that I'm obsessed with Azealia Banks. The Harlem rapper has been on my radar since way back when she was featured on the Scissor Sister's "Shady Love" early last year. She's since gone on to release a fantastic mixtape (Fantasea) and a really good EP (1991). While we're still waiting on an actual release of her debut album, Broke With Expensive Taste, she's still given us some nice treats (ahem, "YUNG RAPUNXEL"anyone?).
Well this Summer, aside from hitting the festival scene in the UK (and getting in fights on Twitter), she's been collaborating with various producers, one of them being Paul Oakenfold. In traditional Oakenfold fashion, his latest features Banks ditching her classic flow for a more pop-
friendly chorus. And some seriously catchy French vocals.
The new track is title "Venus" and is a perfect Summer house-festival banger with soaring synths, great builds and releases, and a really nice change of pace from Azealia Banks. No word yet as to whether it will be featured on either Paul Oakenfold's upcoming album, Pop Killer, or Banks'. Regardless, I'm in love. Take a listen below!
