JoJo Gets Some Heat

As the promotional single for both her upcoming third studio album, Jumping Trains, as well as her Clearsil PerfectaWash TV commercial. While it is not an official single, "Sexy To Me" will be featured on her album (out in April). The track was originally leaked a few months ago but it's nice to see the song getting a ful release. It may be short at only 1:30 but JoJo sure packs a punch in those ninety seconds. It's a self-empowered club-banging mess and it's just amazing. It's time JoJo finally stop fussing around and just release the album that I hope shoots her back to the fame she had with "Leave (Get Out)." Take a listen to "Sexy To Me" below!

Introducing: Rita Ora

Rita Ora is quickly rising up on the chars in both the UK and the US and for good reason. After her work on DJ Fresh's "Hot Right Now", The UK-based,  Kosovian songstress who signed with Jay-Z back in 2009 to Roc Nation has released two singles, one for the UK and one for the US. The single she has released for the US, "How We Do (Party)" (originally "Party & Bullshit") is the typical Rihanna-styled nonsense that we've all heard far too many times. However, the UK release, "R.I.P. (feat. Tine Tempah)" is a smash. Produced by Stargate and Chase & Status and written by Drake, the song is brimming over with genius. It's a dub-step-infused down-tempo pop gem that screams hit. Rita Ora is surely on her way to becoming a huge name in both Europe and the US and I can't wait for her debut album out this year! take a listen to "R.I.P. (feat. Tine Tempah)" below!

A Splendid Return for Plan B

Yesterday, Plan B aka Ben Drew released a new single that comes off the soundtrack for his upcoming directoral debut film, iLL Manors. The track shares the same title as the film and it shows a strong departure from Plan B's previous efforts on The Defamation of Strickland Banks and instead sees the singer return to his rap-roots in an oh-so-delicious way. He's back to taking jabs at politics and the working classes, spitting out some pretty solid verses on top of a really wonderful violin-infused dance beat. It's a return to the Plan B I loved on Who Needs Actions When You Got Words. Take a listen to the single "iLL Manors" below, which will be on the soundtrack for Drew's film, out May 4th.

Chevy Thunder

Up-and-coming London-based band Spector have released the video for their fourth single "Chevy Thunder." The song is a blend of modern rock elements mixed with a '50's inspired grove that really makes the song unique from others that are out right now. It's an amped up, somewhat chord-pissed progression that get's more feisty with each bar. I'm really digging the new material Spector have come out with and "Chevy Thunder" is definitely a decent track on their part. Their new album will be out on April 30th (Via Luv Luv Luv Records) and I am looking forward to their other efforts. Take a look at the video for "Chevy Thunder" below!

DJ, Ease My Mind

Niki And The Dove have just released their video for their single off their upcoming debut studio album, Instinct. The track is titled "DJ, Easy My Mind," and features lead singer Malin Dohlström begging the DJ to play her favorite song. I'm in love with the track and have been following the group since their nomination for the BBC Sound of 2012 poll back in December. Although they finished 5th, the Swedish trio absolutely has a huge career in their future and I expect some really great things to come from their album, out May 14th! Check out the video for "DJ, Ease My Mind" below!

How About Some New Donkeyboy?

Today, Donkeyboy have released their second single off their upcoming sophomore album, Silver Moon. The track is titled "Pull of the Eye" and if you've listened to their past single, "City Boy," it sounds quite a bit like that. However, I strongly urge you to re-listen to the song a few times, as it tends to get better with each listen. The Norwegian pop group are once again full of Cato Sundburg's vocals and the song is aided by one of their signature pumping elctro-pop riffs. The song is definitely a solid release by the band and I can't wait for the release of the album later this year! Take a listen below:

Girls Gone Wild

Today, Madonna has released her new lyric video for her new single, "Girls Gone Wild," which was also released TODAY! The song serves as the second single off The Queen of Pop's upcoming album, MDNA. The song is a catchy, club-infused tune that is quite different from her previous release, "Give Me All Your Luvin'" and I'm already in love with it and I'm sure it'll get all the great recognition it deserves. It sounds a bit like something cut from the studio back in the times of Erotica and I couldn't be more pleased. A very sexy tune for the woman who can still be sexy after 12 studio albums!!

They Call Me Homewrecker

Just today, Marina And The Diamonds has released a new track off her upcoming album Electra Heart. The song, "Homewrecker," features Marina's alter-ego, Electra Heart, wailing away about the boys and girls that surround her and how she's only happy when she's "one the run." The track is just as catchy, if not better, than Marina's previous release, "Radioactive." Electra Heart  is out on April 30th and the first official single, "Primadonna" is out on April 16th! Check out the video below and sign up on Marina's website for a FREE download!

A*M*E's New Video

Up-and-coming future pop sensation A*M*E (pronounced like "Amy") has just released the new video for her debut single 'City Lights'. The track, which features Bartoven, is an instant winner, featuring a pulsing pop beat from the 17-year-old Sierra Leone-born songstress. The second I heard the song, I was hooked. It has a great little beat, a good hook and the video has A*M*E all dolled up and looking fly. Can we talk about her lipstick?! Check out the video below and you'll understand:

Kind of a cleaner-mouth, poppy Azealia Banks, right?

Bassline

'Bassline' is the title of the new single recently released by Reverend and the Makers. The song serves as the first single off the band's upcoming third album, @Reverend_Makers, due out May 7th. The song is a definite club-infused cut but still tinged with the indie-pop feel that has helped them so in the past. It also managed to embrace the ridiculous dubstep trend without over-doing it, which is a big thing for my taste. Overall, it's a really good release from Rev and I look forward to hearing more cuts from the new album!

Sleigh Bells Rock SNL

This past Saturday, Sleigh Bells were featured on SNL. Appearing alongside uh-mazing host Maya Rudolph, the band gave an equally awesome performance. Joined by their wall of Marshall Stacks speakers, Sleigh Bells performed both new single 'Comeback Kid' and 'End Of The Line' off their newly released album Reign of Terror. Alexis Krauss was stunning, as usual, and I'm sure the duo picked up some new fans with their performance. If you missed the show, no worries! Check out the video's for both singles below:

Losing Myself

Will Young has just released the video for his latest single "Losing Myself." The track comes off his absolutely incredible fifth studio album Echoes. The Pop Idol alum is at his best again, following him through a morning filled with doubles of himself. Will Young has had quite the comeback as of late and this is a sure sign that we are far from finished seeing what new things the star has to offer. If you haven't had a chance to check out Echoes yet, I strongly suggest it. Meanwhile, check out the sensational video for "Losing Myself" below!

Introducing: Jessie Ware

Jessie Ware has been rising on the music scene, after her croons were featured on two of SBTRKT's songs on their self-titled album. Now, she's released the video for her solo buzz track "Running." I really love the old-school feel of her voice and the feel of the track itself. She has a seriously remarkable voice and it's very unique, especially in the way she uses it to maximum effect in her (de)crescendo's. the soft vibe of the melody mixed with the '90s-infused melody makes me love the song more with each listen. I mean, who doesn't love that warbling guitar riff underscoring her soft, sensual voice? I know I do!
Check out the video below!

Introducing: Wild Belle

Consisting of Chicago born maybe-siblings Natalie Bergman and Elliot Bergman, Wild Belle is an up-and-coming new pop group that may be just what we need in the wake of Lana Del Rey's seemingly fizzled debut. The two have posted their first single, "Keep You," which is a spacey-feeling, ambitious debut full of a wonderful saxophone riff and Natalie's swoony, raspy voice. The two are playing at SXSW this summer and hopefully the rest of their music will be as equally tasty. "Keep You" is a solid combination of a haunting yet infectious song that only makes me look forward to more.

Climax

Somehow, out of some amazing effort to have a late-in-the-game comeback in his career, a new single off Usher's upcoming seventh studio album has released. The song, "Climax," is produced by Diplo (I know, I'm shocked, too) but is surprisingly amazing. Rather than the typical smut-filled rubbish we saw in recent releases, Diplo has manage to strip away most of the pulsing beat to a one-noted melody paired with Usher's beautiful falsetto. The final product is surprisingly old-school Usher meets new-age R&B and I think there is something really original about the song. Give it a listen and decide for yourself:

Let's Talk About The New Nicki Single

Just yesterday, after her Grammy performance that I still can't find the words to describe, Nicki Minaj has released yet another single off her upcoming album rerelease, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (April 3rd). The single is called "Starships" and like her performance, I still don't know how I feel about it. That being said, it has an infection beat and it's more of the "Right Thru Me" Nicki than Mixtape Minaj. But I think the most interesting thing about it all is that it sounds like a year-end mashup of all the top ten hits of last year. It's got touches Pink, LMFAO, David Guetta and so many others stuffed throughout but somehow it all pieces together rather nicely. Let's just hope that the album can cohesively tie together the schizophrenic releases we've seen recently... Take a listen to the single below!

Some Love For DJ Fresh

Next Monday, DJ Fresh, who grew to fame recently in the UK with his hit "Louder" featuring Sian Evans, will release his second single off his currently untitled third studio album. The new track is called "Hot Right Now" and features Rita Ora on vocals doing an absolutely wonderful job. I love the bounciness of the track mixed with Daniel Stein's impeccable knowledge of what makes a perfect hook. Have a look at the video for the single below and decide what you think of it! I know I'm obsessed...

New LIGHTS

Today, Canadian singer-songwriter LIGHTS released the video for her second single "Banner" off her sophomore album, Siberia. The video features the singer set alone in the bleak desert, hitchiking her way to civilization until she meets some other brave souls along her way. I love the idea for the video and love the song even more. But what I love the most is how amazing she looks, as usual. I saw her in concert a few years ago and she is absolutely amazing. If you haven't had the chance to check out Siberia, I strongly suggest you do. It's an electro-pop record with just enough dubstep to work without making you feel like you're raging at your bro's frat party.
Anyway, take a look at the video for the wonderful "Banner":

How About Some New Karmin?

YouTube-turned-signed stars Karmin, composed of Berkley grads Amy Heidermann and Nick Noonan, are quickly rising in the pop world. The two have released their second single, "BrokenHearted" today, featuring Heidermann's signature rapping over a very sleek and well-produced beat. Noonan's vocals are absent from the track, but it's still sensational. The duo will be making their debut performance on SNL with Zooey Deschanel in the next two weeks, so the pressure is on, considering the recent fall out from Lana Del Rey. Signed with Epic Records, Karmin's second album is due out in April of this year and I am more than excited. Listen to "BrokenHearted" below, as well as the first single off the new album, the exceptional "Crash Your Party" below. Also, check out their SoundCloud page for more great tunes, including a great white-girl rendition of Nicki's "Super Bass".

Live Fast, Die Young, Bad Girls Do It Well

Today is such a great day for music video releases. In addition to her feature on Madonna's new single, M.I.A. has released the video to go with her first single on her still unnamed album, "Bad Girls". The video was filmed by Romain Gavras, who also filmed the video for her song "Born Free". Shot in Ouarzazatte, Morocco, the production is brilliant. M.I.A. proves to us all why she still has swag, reppin' more glittery jumpsuits and strictly killing it riding out the windows of sideways cars. The video is already a hit with me, check it out for yourselves!

Paddling Out Official Video!

Today is just a whirlwind day of music video releases! Just this morning, Miike Snow have released the video for their first single, "Paddling Out" off their upcoming album Happy To You out March 27th! The video for the killer song is just as amazing. Featuring a man who puts on some magic boots in the beginning and following him through a series of crazy events (that surgery scene!) as he transforms in to a big-nosed, leather-pants-wearing dancer. I love the campy effort of the video and I'm happy those creepy girls on the album cover make another appearance! Check it out:

Lana Haters, Y'all Can Sit Down

Last night, the stunningly ridiculed chanteuse Lana Del Rey gave a performance of her breakthrough single, "Video Games" on Letterman. While most were expecting (and hoping) for Lana to stumble her way through a second live telecast, she only shined. With a small string section and a piano to back her up, Lana's performance was really stunning and much more controlled than he Saturday Night Live showing, prompting Letterman to ask her to come back the following two nights! For all of you who are Lana haters, why don't you go play your video games while the rest of us admire her? Check out her performance below!

And Finally The New Madonna Single Is Here

This morning, Madonna released the new single off her upcoming album MDNA (due out March 23), "Give Me All Your Luvin'." The track features Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. and is full of the delicious, amazing hooks Madonna is known for. The production is spot on and basically slays everyone else's efforts in the past year. Lady who? What's even better is that Madge has also released the video for the single, which is absolutely stunning. I'm already obsessed and have been listening to the track on repeat. You can buy the single on iTunes here and check out the video below!!!
