Ellie Goulding's New Album!!

The marvelous and perpetually amazing Ellie Goulding announced her new album's release date today, as well as the first official single! The album will be titled Halcyon and will be out via Cherrytree/Interscope Records on October 9th!! The first single will be titled "Anything Could Happen" and will be available August 21st, with a lyric video premiering on August 13th. This is fantastic news, as I've been waiting for the Lights follow up for over two years.

If you haven't yet heard Goulding's latest release "Hanging On," you should probably pop on over to that. The week of its release, the song was notably the most blogged about and highest played on Hype Machine, as well as lucky enough to garner over a million hits on YouTube. It's fantastic buzz for the singer and I'm sure Halcyon will far exceed the expectations we all have for Ellie.

For those of you who are wondering, "Halcyon" is known as a mythical bird capable of charming the waves of the sea. As Ellie has stated in her press release this morning: "The album for me is a journey from dark into light from confusion to understanding," making the album title make more sense, seeming as a transformation of the singer who has also described it as a break up album.

This is the best news I could have ever asked for. I literally can't control myself right now.

Lana Del Rey - "Summertime Sadness"

The always incredible Lana Del Rey has released her latest music video for her new single "Summertime Sadness" from her debut album Born To Die. In typical Del Rey fashion, the video is strictly incredible and massively depressing. That being said, it's wonderful. The track comes at the perfect timing for Del Rey, with all the latest Summer anthems floating around, she adds a bit of exaggerated sadness to the Summer.

What's also great is that the video comes with the announcement that Lana Del Rey will re re-releasing her album Born To Die in September! The album will feature SEVEN new songs that will surely be as completely breathtakingly perfect as the original release of the album.

Carly And Adam Have A "Good Time"

I'm still trying to recover. This song literally makes me want to dance every time I hear it. Well, folks, Carly Rae Jepsen and Adam "Owl City" Young have released the video for their killer Summer anthem, "Good Time." The video features the duo travelling to the forest to have a bonfire party with their friends and, well, having a good time. The video isn't anything amazing, but it doesn't have to be. That's where it wins. They just prove that they don't even have to try, it's always a good time. THERE. Is that exhausted yet?

Anyways, the single is Carly's follow-up single to the still-amazing "Call Me Maybe" and Adam's lead single off his upcoming fourth studio album The Midnight Station, which is out August 20th. The track is certainly playing as a contender for the Song of the Summer, as it has risen to #21 on the Hot 100 recently and have been getting considerable airtime. I am still in love with the song and have had the video on repeat.

Rita Ora - "Roc the Life"

Recently rising to considerable fame both Stateside and in the UK, Rita Ora is garnering some serious buzz for the release of her debut albumORA, due out August 27th. She has just released the promotional single off the album titled "Roc the Life." See what she did there? (She's signed to Roc Nation, get it nowww?) The new track is a bass-infused, swinging pop number that's a little different ffrom "R.I.P." and "How We Do (Party)," but still another very strong showing from Ora. "R.I.P." has seen success in the UK, debuting at #1 on the Singles Chart and "How We Do (Party)" is seeing success in the States at #62 on the Hot 100! HopefullyORA will live up to the hype, but if any of the recent singles are any indication, it surely will. Take a second and check out "Roc the Life" now!

Aiden Grimshaw - "Curtain Call"

20-year-old X Factor alum Aiden Grimshaw has released the second single on his debut album Misty Eye. The track, a follow-up to his spectacular first single "Is This Love", is absolutely stunning. Featuring a dark, slowed down, spectacular composition and soaring vocals from Grimshaw, it's unmatched by anything currently in the US charts. I'm in love with it already and it really makes Grimshaw one of the most promising acts of 2012. Out August 20th, Misty Eye is sure to have some amazing music on it and "Curtain Call" is certainly no different! Take a listen!

Ellie Goulding - "Hanging On"

I'm not sure if I can love her any more than I already do, but this might do it.

Marking a new direction in her career, Ellie Goulding has released a cover of Active Child's "Hanging On," featuring a verse near the end by Tinie Tempah. Still reeling from the massive success of her uh-mazing single "Lights" in the US, Ellie is currently working on her second album, set to be released this year. It's been two years since we've heard anything from Goulding and she has really gone for it with "Hanging On." Straying from the more up-beat and cheery sounds from Lights, she's gone toward a darker, more electronic sound that I couldn't be happier about. Take a listen to her cover of "Hanging On" and get a free download on her website!

The Killer's Basically Kill It

Finally, for the first time since 2008's Day and Age, The Killers are back with some new music. The track itself is titled "Runaways," and it is absolutely a return to the glory days of the band, featuring frontman Brandon Flowers' impeccable vocals, the pulsing beat and huge guitar lines. "Runaways" is the first song off The Killers' upcoming fourth studio album, Battle Born, which is due out later this year. I've had the song on repeat and am pretty sure I feel a new obsession coming on! Take a spin for yourself!

Amelia Lily - "You Bring Me Joy"

Since finishing in third place on last year's X-Factor, Amelia Lily has been hard at work recording the first of her reported £500,000 three-album deal with Xenomania. As we know with the crew at Xenomania, they're responsible for some of the greatest pop of our generation. Remember that Girls Aloud group? Right. Now they've off and worked their magic with Lily's new single "You Bring Me Joy," which is chalk-full of pop goodness, with a huge beat backing it and a decent, if a bit repetitive, chorus that's sure to help Amelia get her career on the fast track. Check it out!
